God develops leaders in the field, over their lifetime.
The shaping of a leader is more organic than programatic. God uses a series of terrains… life landscapes… to form a leaders leadership and life.
In his book “The Making of a Leader,” Dr. J. Robert Clinton defines a leader as an individual with a God given capacity, and a God given responsibility who influences God’s people towards God’s purposes.
Leadership is tied to influence not position.
Leadership Development is study of leader’s influence over time.
Leadership Development is the study of a leader’s capacity to influence, over time.
Organic Leadership Development is then the paradigm that explores how God is developing leaders in the midst of life and ministry. It explores how God uses people, events and life circumstances to form a leaders heart and shape a leaders life.
